Indian Institute of Management Ranchi, established in 2009, is among the top management schools in India. By 2025, it secured the 39th spot according to Collegedunia Rankings, and in 2024 it was ranked 17th in the MBA category by NIRF. The institute's main offering is its MBA program, available in three specializations, along with an Executive MBA designed for working professionals. Admission into the MBA is reliant on the CAT score, followed by a Personal Interview round. For the 2025-27 session, a minimum CAT percentile of 95 was required to proceed with the admission process. Besides CAT scores, IIM Ranchi evaluates academic performance, gender diversity, and work experience when shortlisting candidates for the PI. It's important to note that from 2026, IIM Ranchi will conduct its selection process independently and will not participate in the Common Admission Process (CAP). Instead, it will join IIM Raipur, IIM Trichy, and IIM Kashipur in a Joint Admission Process (JAP). For the MBA batch of 2023-25, the final placement report revealed a significant increase in the highest salary package, climbing from INR 35.3 LPA in 2024 to INR 50.39 LPA in 2025. The average package for the placements in 2025 was INR 19.29 LPA, with the median at INR 17.64 LPA. A total of 81 companies participated in the placements, with major recruiters including Infosys, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Google, Ebay, Emami, Titan, EY, and Samsung.
