

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, established in 1961, is a prestigious autonomous institute recognized for its national importance. Currently, IIT Delhi has satellite campuses in Sonipat and Jhajjar, with an international presence in Abu Dhabi. According to Collegedunia, it secured the 2nd spot among engineering institutions in India for 2025, and it was similarly recognized by NIRF in 2024 for the engineering category. Additionally, NIRF ranked it 4th overall in India in 2024. IIT Delhi provides a range of programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, with the B.Tech course being the most prominent. For entry into their B.Tech programs, IIT Delhi considers JEE Advanced scores followed by the JoSAA counseling process. Admission to M.Tech courses is based on GATE scores, along with COAP counseling, and may also require candidates to clear a written test or an interview. Besides B.Tech and M.Tech, IIT Delhi offers courses in B.Des, MBA, M.Des, M.Sc, PhD, and PG Diploma. Although the placement report for 2026 is not available yet, the 2025 NIRF report revealed a median package of INR 19 LPA for UG and INR 18.82 LPA for PG programs. During the 2024-25 placement drive, approximately 1,150 students received over 1,200 offers, including more than 50 international offers from 15+ distinguished global companies. Some top recruiters included American Express, Barclays, BCG, Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft, OLA, Oracle, and PayU, among others.
