Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi, widely known as IIT BHU, is a renowned public technical university situated in Varanasi. It originally started as Banaras Engineering College in 1919 within the BHU campus and was upgraded to an IIT in 2012. In terms of rankings, IIT BHU stands at #10 according to the Collegedunia Engineering Rankings for 2025. It holds the same 10th position in the NIRF 2025 overall category.
